a ghostly veil is draped

over the entirety

blankets the house,

grass, & trees

stellar jays

aieennh! aiennh!

in warning

as the world goes dark

everything quiets down

& a million anxieties

suddenly recede as

a thousand gleaming crescents

fan across the patio and lawn
